First Impressions
There was nothing particularly noteworthy about the packaging; the Nomi came in a plain mailer without any additional storage bags or fancy boxes.
The Nomi itself, though, was noteworthy without any fancy packaging.
Folks, this dildo is large.
I have only myself to blame for choosing this Thermos-sized tentacle dick. The dimensions were right on the website. But in a classic case of my eyes being bigger than my “stomach,” I selected a very generously proportioned dildo.
The style is beautiful. I didn’t specify color, and so I got this sort of Marvel adventure hero color theme, but I dig it. The gold does make it look a bit like corn, but I’m willing to overlook it.
The surface is heavily textured and ridged, providing a number of sensory experiences in use. There are prominent ridges on the top and bottom sides of the toy.
The base is convex, so it functions as a really strong suction cup. I was able to affix this to several flat surfaces without it falling off. I’m not sure if it would support its own weight for long on a regular wall, but it does stay stuck to the shower wall.
In Use
This is not the type of dildo you just jump right onto, generally. There’s a lot of warm-up required. And a lot of lube.
Lots and lots of lube.
The BigShocked Nomi is made of a medium-firm silicone, so it has some give while retaining its shape and texture. I tried using it in a few different positions. It worked in all of them. My preference was upright, letting gravity do a lot of the work. It was easy to stabilize this toy on a hard surface using the suction cup base.
The texture of the Nomi was very pleasing, although the stretch was the most overwhelming part of the entire process. Also, because the toy widened gradually, the actual insertion was a steady process. I never felt like the surface was too rough to inhibit penetration or movement.
Kudos and Caveats
Kudos for color variations and style variations, so anyone can get a toy that suits their particular fantasies.
More kudos for high-quality silicone. No rough edges or uncomfortable seams. The Nomi I received is beautifully crafted.
Kudos for a reasonable price point.
I also want to give some kudos to a strong suction cup that stays put.
Caveat or Kudos: the dildos on BigShocked tend toward the larger size, which can be a caveat or worthy of kudos, depending on your predilections.
Final Thoughts
The Nomi from BigShocked is a gorgeous, girthy dildo with excellent texture and a strong suction cup base. While not for the dildo beginner, it’s wonderful for those who like a bit of heft with their toys. And with a wide variety of dildos in many different sizes, shapes, and colors, you might just find the perfect toy for you. Especially if, like me, you’re a monsterfucker.
