Large and In Charge: Fun Factory Big Boss Review

My Fun Factory Big Boss review is making me question everything I’ve always said about myself in terms of sex toy preferences. For years I’ve touted the claim that I’m not a size queen, I prefer medium-sized toys, etc etc. And granted, there are definitely clear limits to my preferences. But I’m starting to realize the truth: I like big toys and I cannot lie. The Fun Factory Big Boss is a wonderfully thick, strong vibrator with enough squish to be accessible and enough rumble to keep me coming…and coming back for more.

Background Info

I’ve been reviewing for Fun Factory for years now. They were one of the first prestige sex toy companies I ever heard of, and one of the first companies I approached when I started writing reviews. Prioritizing sustainable sex toy manufacturing back when such ideas were new, Fun Factory is a company I’ve been proud to associate with. Their products are not inexpensive, but they stand behind their brand in quality and reliability. Some of my Fun Factory toys are products I’ve used for years on end, and I’ve yet to have one fail on me (knock wood). Their track record of quality products continues with the Big Boss.

Out of the Box

The Big Boss comes in a long box with an image of the toy on the outside and Fun Factory’s branding, which is straightforward and simple.

I happen to like bright pink, but if you don’t, you can also get the Big Boss in cream or black.

Inside the box, the Big Boss sits in a cardboard tray. All the cords and instructions are tucked off to the side.

Here’s what you get in the package. All of Fun Factory’s charging cables are red, which is a godsend to a reviewer like me who has to label all her charging cables.

Here is the Big Boss from a few angles so you can see width, shape, etc.

As you can likely see in the pictures, the Big Boss is decently girthy, with a pronounced ridged head and some raised ridges near the base. The texture is a somewhat squishy silicone. The squish lets me take a somewhat bigger toy than I would normally be able to enjoy, and the flexible shaft allows some creativity in penetration positions and overall use.

The Big Boss is controlled with three buttons: the Fun button to turn it on, and then a + and a – to cycle through the intensities and patterns. Fully waterproof, it charges through magnetic induction at the base of the handle.

Into My Box

The Big Boss is a toy that requires some warmup and/or some lube. (Remember, only water-based lube with silicone toys!) Like most Fun Factory toys–and most silicone toys in general–the Big Boss is a bit “draggy” if it’s not slippery.

I was immediately impressed by the quality of the Big Boss’s vibrator motor. All of Fun Factory’s rechargeable vibrators have had good, rumbly motors, and the Big Boss continues that trend. You can choose from six vibration intensities as well as six patterns, although the patterns are of fixed intensity. (You can choose variable intensity OR patterns, but not both.) Those deep, penetrating vibrations hit the internal arms of my clitoris beautifully.

I also noticed that the vibrations stimulated the external nub of my clitoris as well, even if though the Big Boss wasn’t literally touching it: the vibrations travel along the labia. Bottom line: I can usually come from the Big Boss without any additional clitoral stimulation. Like all sex toys, your mileage may vary.

Kudos and Caveats

Kudos for GIRTH. Seriously, that’s what the Big Boss is going for, and it’s succeeding. Get stuffed, folks.

More kudos for 100% waterproofing, because why shouldn’t you get to play in the bath if you want to?

While we’re distributing kudos, have some kudos for a loop handle. This makes the Big Boss easy to hold onto, even if your hands are all slippery. Plus, the loop handle allows for some fun bondage opportunities if you’re so inclined. (I am so inclined.)

Kudos for a strong, rumbly vibrator that will knock your socks off and get your rocks off.

Kudos for a flexible shaft. You can’t bend it in half or anything, but you can move it around a bit, and the squishiness makes the girth more manageable.

Caveat: the Big Boss has a Big Price Tag, and while I think it’s worth every penny, sometimes you just don’t have those pennies.

Another, final caveat: the Big Boss is not anal safe. Vaginas only, folks.

Final Thoughts

If you at all, ever, in your whole adult life, thought you might want a toy that’s big and thick, you should get yourself the Big Boss. It’s a blessing upon the world of sex toys. It’s girthy but it’s not a Thermos. Best of all, it has a vibrator that’s deep and rumbly and toe-curlingly awesome. It blew my mind, and it has earned a coveted spot on my nightstand for “go-to” toys. Fun Factory has done it again, and I’m happy to be along for the ride.
