Womanizer Blend Review: Summer Sensations 6

We are in the thick of a heat wave here in the New England, filled with the kind of heavy humidity I had hoped to escape when I moved out of the south. I’m one of the fortunate ones with an air conditioner, so even though it’s not a house-wide central air system, it’s sufficient to cool the bedroom. Of course, cooling the bedroom is the number one priority, or these toys would never get reviewed. I’m here today for my Womanizer Blend review, looking at a product that seeks to achieve complex pleasure while remaining simple. Let’s take a look.

First Impressions

The Womanizer Blend comes in an elegant, sturdy box with an image of the toy on the front.

Womanizer blend outer box

It’s a sliding box design. Once you slide out the main compartment, the Blend is situated behind a sheet of vellum. I really like the elegant aesthetic of the vellum, and the whole box aesthetic overall.

Interior compartment

That blue container on the right side includes the accessories, as labeled.

Blend with cable and instructions

For the Blend, “accessories” just means a charging cable and some instructions.

Here’s the Blend from a few different angles.

The Blend consists of an external Pleasure Air section (the clit sucking part) and an internal vibrating arm. The internal arm has very little flexibility, although I was able to move it a bit without feeling like I was about to break the toy. Mostly, it’s on a fixed angle.

The Blend has three buttons, although at first, only two are obvious. In addition to the + and – signs, the diamond-shaped spot is also a button. That’s the one pictured above the other buttons in the last gallery photo. I was fooled by this at first, because that section lights up, and so I thought it was just a light. Read the instructions, people.

I want to talk more about these controls, but I’ll dig into that in the next section.

In Use

I say to read the instructions because the function of this toy wasn’t intuitive to me. Holding the + button turns on both features of the toy, the vibration and pleasure air. That much I guessed. But once the Blend is on, the obvious buttons only control the intensity of the pleasure air. The internal vibration stays steady (and on) unless controlled by the diamond light button. Pressing that button cycles through intensities and then also patterns, and by holding that button, you can turn off the internal vibrator (and then turn it back on again).

So, short version: + turns everything on, and then you control the internal vibrator with the diamond button and the clit sucker with the + and – buttons.

I found the external portion of the toy somewhat unwieldy. It’s large and clunky, and the clit sucker part is situated way down in the middle, so the whole thing looks a bit like something from War of the Worlds or Portal. The toy did line up fine with all my anatomy, though, even with a mostly-inflexible internal arm. It was finicky to settle, but once settled, it stayed put.

That’s all about situation, but this section is called “in use,” and in use, the Womanizer Blend works great. The internal vibrator is strong and rumbly, and the external clit sucker is powerful and takes no prisoners. It was a quick ride to orgasm city, one of my favorite destinations.

The idea of the “Blend” is to create a “blended orgasm,” which is being marketed as an orgasm that comes from both external and internal stimulation. To me, this is a rebranding of the way most people with vaginas reach orgasm. Blended orgasms are nothing new. If you’re combining with clitoral stimulation, that’s a blended orgasm in this new terminology. Whatever, branding, blah blah. But Pleasure Air technology, aka the world of clit sucking tech, this is wonderful and I don’t ever want to be complacent about it. These toys are well-designed and wonderful.

Some Comparisons

The Blend is not the first toy in the Womanizer line to combine clit sucking with internal stimulation. Womanizer also has the Duo and the Duo 2. I only reviewed the Duo, but I was very impressed with it. It does have a ton of buttons, and there’s a lot going on.

The Blend seems to be a less expensive version of the Duo-style, with a simpler design and fewer buttons. There’s less customizability, although the Blend and Duo both allow individual control over each part of the toy. If you’re looking for more detailed optimization of every part of the toy, as well as a more robust internal stimulation arm, choose the Duo or Duo 2. If you want combined stimulation with a simpler design, or you want to save some money, choose the Blend.

Kudos and Caveats

Kudos for simplicity. With only three buttons (two if you can’t follow instructions), the Blend is simpler to use than other similar products.

Kudos for Pleasure Air technology, which delivery amazing orgasms.

Additional kudos for a rumbly internal vibrator, rather than something cheap and buzzy. Womanizer doesn’t scrimp on technology.

Caveat: the design is fiddly, and it can be hard to align all the bits of the toy.

Kudos for waterproofing, including submersible waterproofing. Take the Blend in the bath or shower if you’d like. This also makes the toy easy to clean.

Caveat: the Blend removes some of the little features I’ve come to expect from Womanizer. There’s no storage bag, for one, and I think all toys over a certain price point should come with a storage bag. Hell, I think all toys should come with a storage bag.

Additional caveat: whereas other high-end Womanizer toys give you an additional different-sized nozzle to swap out for customized clit stimulation, the Blend only comes with the one nozzle. This isn’t a big deal unless (like me) you’ve become spoiled by having options.

Kudos for trying to get the price point down for a toy like this. The Blend is still not cheap, coming in at $119 at the time of this posting, but it’s a lot less expensive than similar products.

Final Thoughts

The Womanizer Blend combines two excellent features into one effective toy. While I have a few quibbles with the design overall, the product works great. It’s an excellent option for those considering the combination of Pleasure Air and internal vibration. If you’ve been looking for a similar product but suffering from sticker shock, consider the Womanizer Blend! You can buy one from Lovehoney or directly from Womanizer.
