Welcome again to the Days of Dicksmas! This is a December-focused review roundup where I catch up on product reviews and add some festive cheer to your month by talking about sex toys. Dicksmas obeys no rules: there might be any number of Days of Dicksmas and they might go all the way into mid-January with no posting rhythm. We’re living in interesting times, people, and Dicksmas has no time for predictability.
With that in mind, it’s Dicksmas Day One, and I’m taking another look at a product I reviewed once before: the We-Vibe Melt, a pressure-wave clitoral stimulator. We-Vibe has released the Melt in a beautiful deep midnight blue color, and they sent it to me to try again. Good news is that it’s just as great as the first one… and it’s in blue.
Another important note: My first review had the brilliant title “I’ll Stop The World: We-Vibe Melt Review,” which I remain proud of to this today. I really wanted to title this review “I’ll Stop The World: We-Vibe Melt In Blue,” but the titles would be so similar it would definitely fuck with SEO. So I leave it as a mention here and resign myself to the “Blue Dicksmas” pun, which is a fine consolation prize.
Enough of this! On to the We-Vibe Melt!
Out of the Box
We-Vibe has gorgeous packaging. The We-Vibe Melt comes in a box with a gradient coral-to-navy color scheme, and the box pulls apart to reveal the toy.
It also says “Come Alive” on the front of the box, which I am unable to read without thinking of The Greatest Showman.
Anyway, once you get past the music video, you get to the actual product. The We-Vibe Melt comes with a satin storage bag, instructions, charging cable, and lube.
The Melt is really difficult for an amateur like me to photograph, since it’s very dark blue and I love to photograph things on white because I’m a masochist.

Here’s a closer look at the back of the Melt, which has a magnetic attachment point for charging as well as two buttons (for increasing and decreasing intensity).
Those + and – buttons are a bit hard to identify in that photo, but I promise they’re there.
The Melt has a nice gradual slope to it and fits well in hand. The good news is that it fits just as well where it counts.
Onto My Box
The Melt is a pressure-wave clitoral stimulation toy. We-Vibe calls its pressure wave technology “Pleasure Air.” It uses a combination of suction and air pressure to stimulate the clitoris. And it’s magnificent. The nozzle opening was large enough for me to situate it easily where it needed to be. The Melt is different from most other pressure wave devices in that there’s minimal toy around the nozzle opening; there’s no thick padding or wide gasket like one might find in another toy. I don’t think this is either a pro or a con. It’s just an interesting design element. I think it makes the Melt feel sleek.
The Melt is designed to be usable during partner intercourse, with its low profile and gentle angle. I haven’t used it for this purpose, so I can’t weigh in one way or the other. Out of all the pressure wave devices I’ve used, this seems to be the slimmest and least obtrusive. I look forward to getting to try out that feature sometime.
The Melt is controllable both by the buttons on the back and by the We-Connect app. I used it both ways. It’s a strong pressure wave device. The first times I used the older version, I found that the lowest setting was as much as I can handle. Now, a few years later, I’m able to handle stronger intensity. The Melt’s higher settings seem more resonant vs. just more intense. I think the sensation feels deeper at higher levels instead of just stronger or harder.
I have no trouble at all getting off with the Melt. The sensation is precise and delightful and a one-way ticket to HOLY FUCK in no time at all. If you’ve never had an orgasm from a pressure wave toy, you are missing out, and the Melt is great place to start. And finish. Over and over again.
The We-Connect App
We-Vibe’s We-Connect app is useable for most of their toys, including the Melt. The app lets you play with a partner remotely, or just control your toy yourself using your phone via Bluetooth. I had no trouble getting the Melt to connect and stay connected. Once connected, you can draw on the screen to control the toy, or you can program a pattern and let the pattern do the work.
A feature I really like about the We-Connect app is that it lets you set your own maximum intensity. If the toy at 100% is way too much for you, you can set it to whatever percentage feels like a good maximum. Then you can crank it “all the way up” and it’ll be all the way up for your own preferences rather than beyond. This is a great feature when playing with a remote partner.
Kudos and Caveats
Kudos for the new gorgeous midnight blue color!
More kudos for the Melt’s overall quality. It feels great in hand, is easy to hold, and has a strong motor packed into that small size.
Another big set of Kudos to magnetic charging. The Melt’s charging magnets are strong, and they keep the controller connected better than lots of other companies’ magnetic charging setups. Plus, magnetic charging is one of the things that lets the Melt be totally waterproof.
Caveat: I think the inset buttons are a bit harder to feel than raised buttons. I wish the Melt had raised buttons instead.
Kudos for an app that gets and stays connected easily.
Caveat: The Melt is not a budget toy. At $149, it’s a more expensive product than many other pressure wave devices. I think its design and quality make that price fair (even if it is higher than others).
Kudos: The Melt is nearly silent. You won’t be waking up your neighbors with the toy itself, even if you might be waking up the neighbors with your reactions to the toy.
Final Thoughts
The We-Vibe Melt is a wonderful product, whether in pink or midnight blue. It combines powerful air pressure and suction to produce mind-blowing orgasms. You can push the buttons or play with it on your phone, or even hand off control to a friend or internet rando if you want. Play in your bed, in the bath, solo or with one or more partners, the sky is the limit. The Melt is a highly versatile toy and I recommend it. For Dicksmas this year, maybe you should do some Melting.
