Lelo Mia 3 Review: Summer Sensations 11

It doesn’t feel like summer this week in New England, that’s for sure: I’ve been wearing a hoodie in mornings and evenings, and it was even cold enough last night to enjoy a hot bath. Fall is just around the corner, but I’m clinging to Summer Sensations until the grip of Labor Day. Today, I’m happy to be on the blog reviewing the Lelo Mia 3, a thin lipstick-style vibrator with a rumbly motor and some vibrational subtlety. Let’s discuss.

First Impressions

Lelo’s packaging is elegant, and the Mia 3 is no exception. The toy comes in a small black sturdy box with a clear window showing the toy and stymying my photographic skills.

Unpack the box, and you get the Lelo along with some supporting content.

Mia 3 with bag and instructions

The Mia 3 comes with a very soft storage bag (I love Lelo’s soft storage bags), some water-based lube, and not really a manual but a link to download said manual.

Did you notice what’s missing? (Aside from the manual?)

No charging cable!

This had me stumped for longer than it should, but check out this magic:

Look at that! Rather than dealing with a charging cable, you can plug the Mia directly into a USB-A charger.

(Also, it sort of looks like a vape, doesn’t it? Just saying.)

Here’s the Mia 3 in hand.

I know, it’s a pretty simple setup, here. One end is rounded for pinpoint clitoral stimulation. The other end is more wedge-shaped, but that’s the cap end, and it’s not where the vibrator is most focused.

Let’s discuss functionality.

In Use

The Lelo Mia 3 is a subtle vibrator. After giving it a full charge, I turned it on — there’s a + and – sign depicted very faintly in that second pic — and it gave a pretty faint vibration at the lowest level. Fortunately, there are seven more levels/patterns, increasing in intensity as we go.

I had to get to a higher level than I normally would choose to reach the vibration I found ideal, but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. The vibration itself is good quality, rumbly and penetrating. I was thinking about how people who are overwhelmed by vibration would love the lowest levels on the Mia 3, and I’m pretty sure there’s enough on the upper end to satisfy those with more intense tastes.

Personally, once I found a setting I liked, I had no trouble getting off with the Mia 3. Easy to position and hold, the toy got me exactly where I wanted to be.

Kudos and Caveats

Kudos to a simple lipstick vibrator with an effective motor and penetrative vibrations.

More kudos for being super, super quiet. This is a stealth vibrator, folks.

Mixed bag with kudos/caveat: the lowest settings are very mild, which is nice for sensitive clits. But if you rely on very intense vibrations to come — like those from a large wand vibrator — the Mia 3 might not do it for you.

Kudos for waterproofing. It’s nice to take a toy like this in the bath and shower.

Adding in some kudos for the plug-in charging setup. It’s nice not having to futz around with another cable.

More kudos: this is a perfect travel vibe. It hides in a purse quite easily for pleasure wherever you go. (Again, not with non-consenting strangers nearby.)

Caveat: the price point is high. Lelo is a luxury brand, and the Mia 3 shows that at a $99 price point. That’s somewhat steep, even for quality construction. You’re getting an excellent product, but that excellence doesn’t come cheap.

Final Thoughts

The Lelo Mia 3 is a sleek, efficient vibrator ready to travel with you. The vibrator itself is made of quality stuff, and while it may not be the most powerful toy in your toy chest, it’ll be one of the most discreet and convenient.

If this sounds like your style, consider adding the Mia 3 to your toy box!
