Steampunk Buzz: Zeppelina Vibrator Review

I love a novelty vibrator with a cute aesthetic, but it has to have more than looks: it needs function, too. The Zeppelina is a vibrator by Dr. Rocco’s Pleasure Emporium, a steampunk-themed sex toy line. While it’s not the best vibrator I’ve used, the aesthetic and girth push it slightly into the positives. Plus, it’s adorable.

Out of the Box

The box for the Zeppelina is fully into this steampunk theme. The last picture in this gallery here is the info card inside the box.

It’s a beautiful package: whimsical and fun, with a brassy color scheme and tentacles. TENTACLES. These are my people.

The Zeppelina itself is brown/bronze and girthy, with raised texture to look as though it’s riveted together, with other adornments as well.

This toy charges through the base, as you can maybe see in the last picture. You plug the charger in through the same button used to turn it on and off.

It’s cute! I think the brown could be a bit nicer of a color, sure, but overall, I dig the basic aesthetic. So let’s get into function.

Into My Box

This is an insertable vibrator. You could use it on your clit, sure, but the design is made to be inserted, and I’m never one to ignore a toy’s most obvious function. So I inserted it. I noticed right away that this vibrator is substantial, and it took a bit of lube and some warmup before my body was ready. Once it was settled, I enjoyed the pleasant fullness and pressure against my g-spot. Then I turned on the vibrator.

The Zeppelina is buzzy. Really buzzy. There’s nothing rumbly at all about this toy, which means the vibrations are surface-level at best. Now personally, I love a good rumbly vibe, but I can tolerate a buzzy vibe in certain circumstances. For example: in insertable vibes. While rumbly vibes are better, especially since they transmit vibrations through the inner arms of the clitoris, a buzzy vibe like the Zeppelina works for me because it’s pressing right against my g-spot. The vibrations don’t have far to go. It’s also got a bunch of vibration options, too, including some lovely patterns.

As a result, the Zeppelina worked just fine for me. The girth + vibrations made a winning combo, and while I still used clit stim to get off, that’s normal for me. Overall, I was pleased with my “flight.”

Kudos and Caveats

Kudos for an adorable vibrator that rocks the steampunk look. Sure, steampunk’s trendy, blah blah, but I don’t mind if something’s trendy. It’s fun and I like fun. Mixed with that is a slight caveat for its brown color. They might have been trying for bronze, but it’s definitely mostly brown.

Kudos for body-safe materials and waterproofing. This vibe is totally submersible and that’s great for cleaning and shower fun.

Caveat: this vibrator, as I mentioned before, is buzzy. If you’re like me and you don’t mind buzzy internal vibes, go for it. If you want to use this vibe externally, you may be disappointed.

Kudos for girth. G I R T H. She’s a beefy girl and I love beefy girls.

Caveat: noise. This is not a quiet vibe. No sneaking around. Zeppelins aren’t exactly subtle aircraft when they come lumbering past, right? I mean…they’re kind of quiet…but they’re big… okay, this metaphor is not doing what I want it to do. Don’t get the Zeppelina as a stealth toy.

A mixed review for price. It’s not the cheapest vibe in the world, but it’s not absurdly expensive. For this price, I’d hope for something more rumbly, but you’re paying a bit for looks, I think.

Final Thoughts

The Zeppelina is cute, and while it’s kind of big, it’s not intimidating because its aesthetic is so pleasing. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for a starter vibrator because of its girth and because I think everyone should try for rumbly vibes when possible, but I think it fits a niche aesthetic. So while I have some reservations, overall, I support taking a ride on the Zeppelina.
