Roses Everywhere: PlayfulToy Rose Toy Review

This is a sponsored post.

Everything’s coming up roses lately, if the internet world of sex toys is any indication. Rose-themed vibrators and clit suckers are everywhere. I love the world of sex toys that don’t look like sex toys, so I’m a fan of all these roses. Today I’m reviewing the Rose Toy from PlayfulToy, an effective clit sucker that’s aesthetically pleasing and fun to use.

First Impressions

The Rose Toy comes in a white box that looks like it has tea inside. But it’s not! It’s a sex toy.

In addition to the toy and its instructions, you get a storage bag and a charging dock that looks like a little disk.

Rose with accessories

The Rose sits in the disk for easy charging. I love this!

Here are a couple of shots of the Rose itself. It fits nicely in hand, made with a soft-touch silicone.

The body-facing part is mostly flat with an opening for the clitoris (or whatever else you want to have sucked). While small, the Rose has some heft to it, which means it doesn’t feel cheap.

The toy has one single button. You use this button to turn on the Rose Toy as well as cycle through the suction intensities and patterns.

While I have the red Rose Toy, it also comes in several other colors if that suits your fancy better.

Looks are great, but they clearly aren’t everything, right? That’s not why you’re here. We definitely need to talk about function.

In Use

The Rose Toy is a suction toy, or a pressure wave/pleasure air toy, a clit sucker, whichever you want to call it. Inside the nozzle is a gasket of some kind that pumps air back and forth and creates a sucking/vibrating/stimulating sensation. While it’s mostly designed for the clitoris, it works for the nipples as well, and might possibly be useful for stimulating the frenulum.

Positioning the Rose Toy takes some practice. The difference between “almost there” and “right there” is significant, although “almost there” still works great. The Rose Toy is at its most powerful when lined up directly on the erogenous zone. It gets the best contact when there’s lubrication, either from a bottle or from your body. The wetness helps build up a seal. I found that with the flat face of the Rose Toy and the suction, it quickly developed a solid seal that made the sensation quite intense. I didn’t ever feel in danger or at risk, though; it was easy to break that seal with a bit of pressure. Nothing was getting sucked into anywhere. It just held on solidly.

I tend to use my suction toys on a low setting, and the Rose Toy’s low setting is excellent. It’s powerful but not painful, at least for me, and it’s got the right level of intensity to get you where you need to be. If you aren’t getting there fast enough, you can turn it up or swap to patterns. I’m not much of a pattern person, so for me, solid and steady is the way to go.

It was so easy for me to get off with the Rose Toy. I did find that at orgasm, I was sometimes too sensitive to maintain that direct suction contact, so I often broke the seal and lifted a corner of the nozzle away. Still, it worked very well, even with less direct stimulation.

Kudos and Caveats

Kudos for aesthetics. I love the rose, and I love that I can get it in different colors. The silicone feels nice in hand and the “petals” are just realistic enough without getting in the way. Plus, I like the tea-esque packaging.

More kudos for the charging dock, which makes charging so much easier.

Kudos for effectiveness. I love a good clit sucker, and this is a very good clit sucker! The Rose Toy will get you off.

Caveat: the flat face of the Rose Toy means that if you have prominent labia, you may need to separate them out of the way to get a good seal. The Rose Toy is looking to lie flat against your body, and the clitoris is in a not-very-flat area. I found this part a bit finicky but not prohibitive by any means.

Kudos for waterproofing, with a caveat. The Rose Toy says it has IPX7 waterproofing, but the instructions also say not to submerge it for a long time to clean it. I think to be safe, you could use this in the shower but I’d be hesitant about using it in the bath.

A mixed kudos/caveat for noise. The Rose Toy is pretty quiet, with a tendency to make some noise when there isn’t a full seal. When perfectly situated, you can barely hear it. When lifted a little away from the body, it’s definitely audible.

Big kudos for price! PlayfulToy is a very reasonably priced company, and this rose toy is only $34. That’s incredibly affordable for an orgasm machine! It’s the perfect price point for a sex toy impulse buy.

Final Thoughts

The Rose Toy from PlayfulToy is not the only Rose-themed product on the market. I’ve reviewed some recently and have several more on the docket in the coming weeks! But the aesthetic is around for a reason. It’s an approachable, friendly vibe that has a place in the toy box of both the new collector and the connoisseur. It’s an effective clit sucker with a lovely design and an even lovelier price. Whether you’re buying for yourself or someone else, the Rose Toy is a wonderful addition to the bedroom.

I received this toy in exchange for my honest review. Affiliate links are being used in this post, and buying a product through these links benefits me and this blog.
