It’s still fuck-around fall, dear readers! I’ve been underwater with the day job for the last few weeks, but I’m surfacing to tell you about an absolutely delightful wand vibrator that made my overwork a bit more bearable. The Le Wand massager is (as you guessed) a wand massager, and it’s the flagship product of the Le Wand company. The massager is a strong, rumbly vibrator with excellent features at a reasonable price.
First Impressions
Le Wand’s packaging is beautiful. The wand comes in a box with an outer sleeve that has an image of the toy on it.
Slide off the outer sleeve, lift the lid, and here’s the Le Wand Massager.
Le Wand sent me the one that’s baby blue with rose gold highlights, and I think it’s beautiful. Here it is out of the box with its accessories.
I appreciate that Le Wand sends a storage bag big enough to fit the wand, as you can see in the picture above. I was also amused that I got adapters for the entire wold. It’s a nice gesture, but I’m unlikely to bring a foot-long, pound-and-a-half vibrator in my carry-on. (Not because I’m concerned about the TSA, but because it takes up space.) If Le Wand has lots of international customers, though, maybe it’s just easier to send every adapter to everyone instead of packaging them differently. *Shrug*
Here are two pictures showing the buttons of the Le Wand as well as a close-up of the head.
The Le Wand Massager has three buttons: up, down, and pattern. There are six patterns and ten vibration speeds. The head is a flexible soft-touch silicone.
Now let’s plug this thing in and take it for a spin.
In Use
I was thrilled right away with the strength and rumbly quality of the Le Wand Massager‘s vibrations. (Do I say “Le Wand Massager” or “The Le Wand Massager”? I’m just saying “The The Wand Massager,” aren’t I? I’ll do both.) Wand vibrators can be buzzy and superficial, but I think they’ve gotten a lot better since the early Hitachi days. This massager was excellent. It was easy to position and delivered the intensity right where I wanted it. I played around with speeds and patterns for the review, but mostly I like a solid, steady vibration without variation. If you like patterns, you’ve got them, but they aren’t for me. This wand got me from 0 to 60 in record time.
Le Wand Massager comes in two varieties: plug-in and rechargeable. I like the convenience of rechargeable, but I don’t have a big aversion to plug-in toys. They never run out of battery, after all. If you don’t mind the plug, you can get the Le Wand Massager for a lot cheaper than the rechargeable.
Kudos and Caveats
Kudos for a vibrator motor that delivers the goods. It’s strong, it’s rumbly, and it’s taking me where I want to go. You can stop the review here if you want: it’s got my enthusiastic endorsement no matter what else I say.
More kudos for color options. The plug-in and rechargeable each have an assortment of colors to choose from. Right now, the white and black versions are on sale, so that might be an incentive for you.
Caveat: the plug-in version is decently loud, and the rechargeable version is even louder. The promotional materials say the rechargeable is “less than 84 decibels,” which for comparison, is the volume of a garbage disposal or a diesel truck. The plug-in version, at max 68 decibels, is slightly quieter than a hair dryer. Long story short: you’re not stealth-wanking with this.
Additional caveat: it’s not waterproof. Most wand vibrators aren’t, but some are, so it’s good to know.
Kudos for a long cord. If you are buying a plug-in toy, having an 8-foot cord is a plus.
Kudos for attachments. While I didn’t try any myself, Le Wand sells a variety of attachments to turn your external wand into an internal toy.
Caveat: It’s heavy, over 1.2 pounds. This isn’t a great toy for people with hand strength issues.
Kudos for price. It’s an excellent wand, and right now, the sale price for the plug-in white or black wand is only $78. At full price of $130, the plug-in is still cheaper than many similar products. The rechargeable gets you up closer to $180, but there’s currently a sale on the Pacific Blue color for $108. You can get a pretty good deal on one of these if you hit this sale, and even at full price, it’s a lot of vibe for the dollar.
Final Thoughts
I loved this vibrator, and I’m going to keep it in my bedside cabinet. It’s reliable, strong, and mind-blowingly good. Plus, I never have to worry about keeping it charged. If you’re in the market for a good wand, you should get yourself (the) Le Wand Massager! It’s fuck-around fall, so fuck around and find out… the good way.
