Hippogriff Dildo Review: Hung Like A Horse

I think you folks are going to see through me if I start one more review with the phrase, “I don’t normally like big dildos, but…” In truth, this Hippogriff Dildo review is another review of a dildo that’s bigger than what I’d choose in general, and which I definitely, definitely loved. Even though I never considered myself a size queen, and can enjoy myself with toys and penises of many different sizes, I’m starting to accept that I don’t mind big.

Phantasia Toys is a brand new sex toy manufacturer with currently two designs on the market: an adorable lava lamp butt plug that was far outside my comfort range, and a really lovely dildo called Hesperos the Hippogriff which is hung like a horse. Or a horse-griffin combo, whatever. Hesperos comes in an assortment of colors and firmnesses. I got to try a soft one, a near-clear dildo that glows in the dark with a lovely color palette. And reader, I am a fan.

First Impressions

Hesperos the Hippogriff dildo comes in a simple box, wrapped for safety in transport, so no need to photograph a plain box.

But here’s the Hippogriff dildo itself.

The shaft is vaguely horse-dick shaped near the head with raised bumps along the underside and a pronounced knot-ridge about two thirds down the shaft. Hesperos, as you can see, has quite generous testicles as well. And isn’t that coloring lovely?

Here are some shots of the dildo in hand and with fingers for scale.

Yep. Despite being labeled “medium” on the website, Hesperos is (to my eyes) a generously proportioned dildo.

In Use

I requested to try the softest version of the Hippogriff dildo because I knew that with a diameter ranging between 1.7″ and 2.2″, the shaft was larger than I generally use for penetration. A soft toy has some give, making it possible for me to take toys on the bigger side. The softness does also mean that the shaft bends quite a bit and can be difficult to achieve initial penetration.

Initial inconveniences aside, I found myself loving the Hippogriff. The shaft tapers enough to allow for some gradual buildup, although that wider knot down the shaft was a challenge. The length and girth proved quite stimulating. The testicles at the base of the shaft made for an easy handhold, although they also tended to obstruct my clit during maximum penetration.

Because of the flexibility of the shaft and the construction of the dildo, though, I was able to use the testicles for clit stimulation. When properly warmed up, that incidental contact combined with the internal g-spot and a-spot stimulation and I could get off with only the toy and without a hand on my clit. Magical! On a subsequent use, I was also able to wedge a small vibrator between the Hippogriff testicles and my clit and get stimulation that way.

I initially set out thinking this would not be a toy I would use a lot, but then even after the initial testing process, I kept returning to the Hippogriff. Sometimes, maybe I just need to fuck something gigantic.

Kudos and Caveats

Kudos for small-batch sex toy manufacturers! I’m so excited to see another small business enter the market, and I hope to see more from Phantasia Toys in the future.

More kudos for high quality toys. The platinum-grade silicone feels wonderful, not sticky or cheap, and it has both heft and durability.

Additional kudos for offering up a wide variety of colors and firmness. Although Phantasia doesn’t do custom toys, the variety of firmness options makes their product accessible to more users.

Caveat: This is not a beginner dildo. The photos on the website do not give scale, but the descriptions are quite clear. Read those descriptions!! If you don’t like dildos on the medium-large side, this is not a toy for you.

Kudos for size, though: if you do like a generous Hippogriff-sized dong, this is a wonderful choice.

Kudos for glow in the dark. It’s just fun.

Caveat: the Hippogriff is very animal-themed, and while it’s fantastical enough to feel whimsical for me, I imagine people may be turned off by the similarities to a real horse cock. If that’s you, you’re not the target audience for this dildo and that’s okay.

Caveat: At $90, this is a dildo with a designer/boutique price tag. If you don’t want mass-produced sex toys and you want to support small businesses, the toys are inherently going to cost more. But kudos for discounts! You can use my affiliate link to save 10% off your order, and that’s awesome. You can also use the code ELIAWINTERS at checkout for the same deal.

Final Thoughts

I was not sure how to feel about the Hesperos Hippogriff dildo, but damn, it’s a great time. With a beautiful design and color scheme, a generous length and girth, and high-quality materials, this is a toy for connoisseurs, dildo lovers, fantasy fans, and yes, size queens. You can purchase this dildo at Phantasia Toys, and I hope you do!

I received this toy in exchange for my honest review. Affiliate links are being used in this post, and buying a product through these links benefits me and this blog.
