Terri Tapping Vibrator Review: Masturbation Month Day One

Hello folks! It’s May, and that means a lot of things: warmer weather, blooming flowers, college graduations…and National Masturbation Month! I have a bunch of toys to review, so I’m going to celebrate this month in style by bringing you a whole slew of reviews. Today, Day One, I’m reviewing the Terri Tapping Vibrator from Honey Play Box. More specifically, it’s the Terri App-Controlled Kinky Finger Tapping Rabbit Vibrator, but I’m just going to call it the Terri.

First Impressions

The Terri comes in a simple box with an image of the toy on the outside and a shiny enough coating to pick up the glare from my overhead lamp.

Open the box, and you’ll find the toy along with a generously-sized storage bag, a charging cable, and a user manual.

Toy with bag

Seriously, look at that big storage bag! It’s pretty, emblazoned with the Honey Play Box logo.

Now you’ve probably already noticed that the Terri looks different from many vibrators! Come take a closer look.

The Terri resembles a rabbit vibrator with an internal shaft and external clit arm. But the shaft of the Terri is split into two curved arms with a g-spot “finger” in the middle. The clit arm is flexible, as you can see in the pics above. It’s controlled by three buttons that control the clit vibrator, shaft vibrator, and that g-spot finger.

Here’s a pic extending the g-spot finger.

G-spot finger extended

Yes, taking that picture felt somehow wrong.

That g-spot finger “taps” against the g-spot, flicking back and forth with tremendous force and range, like a tiny silicone metronome on cocaine. The Terri aims to stimulate the clitoris, g-spot, and a-spot (deeper parts of the vagina) simultaneously.

So how well does it do?

In Use

One of the first things I noticed when testing the Terri was that inserting the shaft was more challenging than I expected. The wide, flat shape seemed to “catch” on the way in, and the stretch felt unusual rather than pleasant. It was thick in the way that I’m less able to feel, and thinner in the way I’m more able to feel, so I managed to both struggle with toy insertion and still not feel the pressure once inserted.

The g-spot finger hammers at the right spots with enthusiasm. It has little raised nubs, which is not something anyone’s g-spot is going to distinguish, but A for effort I guess. I could certainly feel the finger itself tapping against my g-spot, And there, I think, is one of the challenges of this toy: not everyone likes having their g-spot tapped. For me, I much prefer a firm, steady pressure.

The clitoral arm was easy to situate where it needed to go, and the vibrator was strong. It was also quite buzzy. That’s true of the internal vibrator as well. The vibrations just didn’t travel as deeply as I had hoped.

I was definitely able to get off with this toy, but oh, my kingdom for rumbly vibrations. If this had a deeper motor, it would be absolutely stellar. As it was, the interesting sensation of the tapping was not strong enough on its own to get me where I needed to be, and the vibrations were strong but superficial.

The App

Honey Play Box has an app, easy for me to find under the company name. It was quick work from there to create a profile and connect the Terri. Once connected, you can control the toy through an on-screen interface: drag the icon around the circle to cycle through the presents on vibrator or tapper or both, or you can use the free-form finger drag to control the intensity. Another option is to connect a partner for long-distance play. You can also connect to music or sound and align the vibrations with that. You can also switch on “Intense mode,” where the toy goes wild like the Death Blossom at the end of The Last Starfighter.

(Is that too deep a cut for my readers to get? Let me know.)

The app functioned well for me, but I didn’t love the interface. It was challenging to drag the icons around the circles in a measurable way. The free-touch finger drag setup worked much better, and it allowed for nuance in levels of intensity. Even so, though, if one is playing alone, I don’t think the app provides enough additional features to make it more useful than just pushing the buttons.

Kudos and Caveats

Kudos for innovation. I may not love the g-spot finger tapping personally, but for some people out there, this is exactly the type of stimulation that gets them off. And let’s be clear: that finger is going hard. It’s out there pounding on the door like an enthusiastic Jehovah’s Witness. So even though I’m not really here for it, it’s committed, and lots of people will like it.

Caveat: I didn’t like the split-shaft shape of the internal part of the toy. Your mileage may vary, here. I thought inserting it was awkward, and I didn’t get enough internal pressure in the right places to feel like there was something substantial there. This, again, seems quite subjective.

Kudos for an app that works, despite not bringing enough to the party for me for solo play. I didn’t try long-distance/remote play, so you’re on your own there, but for me, that would be the primary reason to use the app.

Kudos for waterproofing! All good quality sex toys should be waterproof, in my opinion.

Additional kudos for a storage bag actually big enough to hold the toy without me having to shove it in there like stuffing a sausage.

Caveat: The app displays your vaginal temperature and the calories burned during your sexy workout. I couldn’t see how to turn that off, but nothing is less sexy to me than the temperature of my vagina and calorie counts.

Additional caveat: The Terri is not as quiet as I’d like it to be. Even beneath all the covers, the toy was distinctly audible, and if all 3 features were on, it would be decidedly audible.

Final Thoughts

I wanted to love the Terri tapping vibrator, but I ended up feeling meh about it overall. I thought the design was innovative and ambitious, but in execution, it didn’t live up to my hopes. For some people, though, this will be a great toy. If you like tapping sensations and you don’t mind buzzy vibes, this might be a perfect choice. If this sounds like you, you can get the Terri tapping vibrator on Honey Play Box. If not, check out all the other great toys Honey Play Box has to offer.

Happy Masturbation Month, everyone! I’ll be back soon with more.
